Birch Hill Pennant stone

Birch Hill Pennant stone is favoured by landscape architects for water features and rockery projects because of its attractive and robust nature. It has starred in award winning displays at both Malvern and Chelsea Flower Show.

Hidden deep within the Royal Forest of Dean, Birch Hill Pennant Quarry produces masonry, building and walling stone in green, grey and blue colours, with areas of red.

Pennant stone is quarried from the Carboniferous series of sandstones. It is known for its excellent strength characteristics and weather resistance. It is also used for a wide range of church conservation and listed building restoration and a number of civil applications including revetment and gabion basket stone.

We are also able to supply quantities of large block stone weathered over many years and of megalithic proportion.
