As we mark 15 years in the business, it’s a moment for us to reflect with pride on our journey and achievements in the recycled plastics industry. Founded in the heart of Lancashire, our family-run business has steadily grown into a beacon of sustainability, championing eco-friendly living and environmental responsibility.
Did you know? We have sold a quarter of a million tonnes of recycle plastic over the 15 years!
At Kedel, our mission has always been rooted in ethical, ecologically sound principles, offering recycled plastic products such as plastic lumber, plastic decking, plastic fencing and recycled plastic outdoor furniture. Over the years, we have delighted in seeing our creations help transform both personal and public spaces while upholding our commitment to sustainability every step of the way.
Our collaboration with esteemed clients has been central to our success. From helping The National Trust enhance its historic sites with sustainable materials to providing Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service with eco-friendly materials to create a bespoke memorial garden, each partnership has bolstered our reputation for quality and reliability. We’ve also worked alongside Silverthorne Studios, Sharps Brewery, and Gap Containers Ltd, each time reinforcing our dedication to sustainable innovation.
Our goals at Kedel extend far beyond just providing products. We only manufacture using recycled and recyclable materials, ensuring a reduced carbon footprint for our customers. By sourcing waste plastic locally, primarily within the UK, we maintain a sustainable supply chain that supports a closed-loop recycling process.
Our commitment is further demonstrated in our manufacturing policies. By employing the latest machinery, adopting energy-efficient practices, and utilising environmentally friendly transportation, we strive to minimise our environmental impact. Most of our materials are sourced from within 50 miles of our manufacturing facility, and where possible, we package our products using recycled materials.
As we celebrate this milestone, we also look forward to what the future holds for Kedel. “The next 15 years are brimming with potential,” says founder Dermot Walch. “I’m excited to see how Kedel continues to develop and becomes an even more integral part of the growing demand for sustainable products. Our commitment to innovation and sustainability will remain at the forefront of everything we do.”
