Nationwide Platforms Takes Delivery of Versatile Tracked Booms for Urban Applications

Nationwide Platforms, the UK’s market leader powered access rental company, has taken delivery of a further 64 tracked boom lifts which are ideal for working at height in the most challenging environments. Available for hire throughout the UK, the investment ensures its customers have unrivalled access to one of the largest and youngest fleets of tracked boom lifts.

Considerably lighter than conventional access platforms with similar working heights, their robust tracks and low ground bearing pressures allow them to easily traverse uneven, rough or soft terrain, making them ideal for arborist, maintenance or utility companies that might need to access remote or tricky areas. They can also be provided with a range of ground mats to ensure delicate ground conditions remain in pristine condition.

Compact dimensions and the ability to remove the platform basket also allow them to pass through narrow passages, such as down the side of houses or through standard single doorways. Available for hire with either an operator or on a self-operated basis, the new Hinowa Performance IIIS tracked boom lifts offer working heights of 15.4, 17, 20 and 25.7 metres, while the Teupen Leo31T offers a massive 31 metres working height.

Designed with operator safety and functionality in mind, features include variable outrigger settings, one button set-up, wireless remote control, height and width adjustable tracks and home/memory capabilities. Its automatic levelling system can also overcome a height difference of up to 1.2 metres enabling customers to work in the most challenging environments and on a range of applications which otherwise would not have been possible.

Peter Douglas, Nationwide Platforms Operations Director and Head of the company’s Specialist Division, said: “We have experienced fantastic success since launching our Tracked Boom division last year. Originally covering the South East region with 36 machines based at our Luton depot, it was always the plan to expand the division to provide a national coverage and support for our customers this year.”

This investment not only ensures Nationwide Platforms has the largest fleet of Hinowa tracked boom lifts in the UK but also the largest fleet to be powered by Lithium-Ion battery technology. Eliminating the need for a combustion engine or electric cables, Lithium-Ion technology provides quiet and emission free operation, allowing for both indoor and outdoor use.
