ENGLAND HOCKEY’S EYE IN THE SKY

The Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre recently required some important changes to be made to their venue as they prepared for this month’s Unibet Euro Hockey Championships. As official goal post and net supplier to England Hockey, Harrod UK was called upon to develop a bespoke new concept for the sports technical dug outs whilst logistically trialling its move into the stands; for the first time in major international hockey event history.

The main benefit of the move away from the field of play is that the technical officials, when timing and scoring, now have a much improved view of the pitch during high level competitions. They remain in contact with their colleagues pitch side via radio link.

“We are delighted with the new technical shelter at Lee Valley” said Stephen Barlow, England Hockey Competitions Manager.

“The Harrod UK team worked closely with us to deliver a great product that both improves how our technical officials work and streamlines the team dugout area. Their support firmly helps us be at the forefront of innovation in our sport worldwide.”

Trust built up over a number of years of working in the sport, ensured the brand new technical dug out gained vital support from officials and European and International Hockey Federations.

England Hockey hope, as they strive to improve the presentation of the sport, the brand new layout and Harrod UK technical dug out will become a benchmark for all future venues.
