Come along to Squire’s Garden Centre in Milford on Saturday 11th July at 4.15pm to hear a fascinating talk on English roses, by David Austin rose expert Mike Sokolowski.

Learn everything you need to know about roses including cultivation, planting and care.  Suitable for both enthusiasts and beginners, this entertaining and informative talk will take you behind the scenes of David Austin Roses, one of the largest garden rose breeding programmes in the world.

Mike will provide an insight into the scale and intricacies of breeding new rose varieties, from seed through to launch at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show. He will also share his in-depth knowledge including cultivation, planting and care advice as well as talking about some of his personal favourite varieties and their versatility in the garden.

Mike Sokolowski

Mike studied Horticulture at Nottingham University. His career in commercial horticulture started at the age of 15, and he went on to work with some of the largest commercial plant producers and nurseries in the UK. For the last 10 years he has worked for the internationally acclaimed Rose Breeders and Growers, David Austin Roses.
