Creating a secluded haven for your garden

When we were approached by a couple who wanted to create a more secluded environment for their garden, we knew exactly what to offer them. Within days, we’d measured the space and agreed a quote. Our client’s property in Borehamwood was heavily overlooked by its neighbours and had a public playing field behind the rear fence so they wanted to create a space that felt more like just their own.

The end result hit the brief completely and our clients couldn’t have been happier. Here’s how we achieved it…

What we used?

For our clients, Contemporary style was everything so we suggested they use Cequence Bevel Edged fencing panels, which are constructed from 44mm x 18mm Western Red Cedar battens with a gap between each batten to give shadow lines.

This panel is constructed using battens with a bevelled edge, this allows water to drain off and increases that amount of sunlight that can pass through the panel which suited our clients perfectly. These horizontal slatted panels were used along with our Standard Cequence Cedar posts to create a seamless fence with no visible posts.

Western Red Cedar

Like all of our fences, for this project we used high grade Western Red Cedar wood. The timber not only looks the part, it is also naturally resistant to rot and pests making it ideal for use outdoors.

What’s more, Western Red Cedar is one of the most sustainable timbers and comes from a PEFC managed forest.

Completing the look

To complete the look, we fitted our frameless cedar gates. These gates are the perfect complement to our slatted fencing as they can be used within a fence run and blend in perfectly.

Finally we fitted our Cequence capping rail to the top of the fencing panels.

Capping not only strengthens the fence, it also creates a strong top edge that visually enhances the overall aesthetic.
